2018 BMW 320i vs Audi A4
Atlantic City, Egg Harbor, and Vineland are bustling cities with lots of places to explore. A great way to do that is in a luxury small car with lots of features. Two popular options are the 320i and the A4. Which one would be right for you?
To help answer that question, we here at BMW of Atlantic City created this 2018 BMW 320i vs. Audi A4 comparison. Learn all about these vehicles, and don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
The 2018 BMW 320i comes with a 2.0L TwinPower 4-cylinder engine that produces 180 horsepower and 200 lb-ft of torque. Plus, the engine is paired with an 8-speed STEPTRONIC automatic transmission with Adaptive Transmission Control. Many people find it a pleasure to drive. Its handling is crisp and responsive, blending agility with comfort.
The 2018 Audi A4, meanwhile, has a slightly more powerful engine. Its 2.0L TFSI® 4-cylinder puts out 190 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. However, it’s mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. This results in shifting that isn’t as smooth as you’d find in the 320i.
Furthermore, many find the driving to not be as nimble as its BMW counterpart. Plus, while comfortable, it’s not as engaging as the 320i. As a result, the A4 may not be as fun to drive as its competitor.
Interior Space & Amenities
There’s more than enough space for five passengers in either sedan, especially up front. In the BMW 320i, you get 40.3 inches of front headroom and 42 inches of front legroom. Meanwhile, the Audi A4 gives you 38.9 inches of front headroom and 41.3 inches of front legroom.
They both offer plenty of amenities to help make your drives more enjoyable and convenient. These include an engine start/stop button, four cupholders, automatic climate control, and ambient interior lighting. They also both come with a leather-wrapped 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel with audio controls.
The 2018 320i and 2018 A4 have lots of high-tech features to help you stay connected and entertained. For instance, they both come with a CD/MP3 player, along with Bluetooth® technology to stream audio or make hands-free phone calls.
The 320i also comes standard with HD Radio™. This lets you hear your favorite radio stations in crystal-clear quality, without any static. Meanwhile, to get this feature in the A4, you need to upgrade to a higher trim level.
Another standard feature in the 320i is BMW TeleService. This will constantly monitor your vehicle’s performance. When it’s time for service, sensors will transmit the car’s status directly to your local BMW service center. They’ll then have the parts you need right when you need them.
Unfortunately, if you want a similar feature in the A4, you’ll need to upgrade to a higher trim level.
2018 320i vs 2018 A4: Verdict
The 2018 Audi A4 is no doubt an impressive vehicle. However, the 2018 BMW 320i has a better overall performance, more spacious interior, and more standard features.
