2022 X3 VS GLC PERFORMANCE SPECS
If you’re wanting a powerful yet efficient automobile, you’ll find that in both the 2022 BMW X3 and 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC.
The X3 has two engines to choose from, with the most powerful being a 3.0L TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder. This motor produces 382 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Plus, with an 8-speed Sport Automatic transmission, you can glide nicely on the road as you go from 0 to 60 MPH in just 4.4 seconds.
Unfortunately, the GLC isn’t quite as athletic. Its most powerful 2.0L 4-cylinder engine delivers just 255 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. It takes 6.1 seconds to go from 0 to 60 MPH with this engine.
The X3 is more efficient, too. It achieves an EPA-estimated 23 city/29 highway MPG1, while the GLC achieves an EPA-estimated 22 city/29 highway MPG. If your commutes are primarily in the city, you may want to go with the BMW model.
INTERIOR SPACE & AMENITIES
While the 2022 X3 and 2021 GLC are compact SUVs, they provide tons of space inside for five passengers. No matter where you sit in either model, you’ll have more than enough room to comfortably stretch out during any ride.
You’ll also have plenty of space for cargo, whether that’d be from food shopping or your next weekend getaway. However, you may be able to pack more inside the BMW model.
That’s because it has 28.7 cubic feet of cargo room behind the rear seats and 62.7 cubic feet when that back row is folded down flat. In comparison, the Mercedes-Benz has just 19.4 cubic feet of cargo room behind the rear seats and only 56.5 cubic feet when those seats are folded down.
Your passengers will also have more headroom in the BMW X3, given these dimensions:
- BMW X3 Headroom (front/rear): 41.1 / 39.1 inches
- Mercedes-Benz GLC Headroom (front/rear): 37.8 / 38.5 inches
However, both vehicles offer lots of amenities to help keep riders comfortable at all times. These include heated front and rear seats, along with a heated steering wheel. If it’s particularly chilly out, these features will be useful to have in your SUV.
TECHNOLOGIES IN THE X3 VS GLC
The technologies in the BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC can also be useful to have, especially on your everyday commutes.
Both models come with advanced infotainment systems controlled by a controller knob, touchscreen, or voice command. They also both come standard with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, so you can use your smartphone’s apps without needing to mess with your mobile device while driving.
Furthermore, the X3 offers a 1-year All Access trial subscription to SiriusXM® Satellite Radio. With it comes over 150 music, news, and comedy stations, so you can always discover something fun and/or informative to listen to. The GLC offers SiriusXM® Satellite Radio All Access, too. However, it’s only for six months.
In addition, a Wi-Fi hotspot is standard on the BMW X3. While the GLC has the option for one, it isn’t standard.
