2019 BMW X3 Powertrain Review
The 2019 X3 offers two different engines with impressive performance specs:
- 0L TwinPower Trubo I-4: 248 horsepower/258 lb-ft of torque
- 0L M Performance TwinPower Turbo V6: 355 horsepower/369 lb-ft of torque
Both engines use their low-end torque to get you moving right out of the gate, as you see in their acceleration times. The 2.0L engine gets you from 0-60 MPH in as little as six seconds, while the 3.0L engine can get you there in just 4.6 seconds. Due to this kind of acceleration, you can easily pass cars on the highway and swiftly merge.
While front-wheel drive comes standard, the available xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive (AWD) system can help improve your handling when traversing snowy roads or traveling over sand to launch your boat into the ocean.
This smart system actively monitors your driving conditions and redistributes power between all four wheels to help you improve your grip on low-traction roadways.
Interior and Cargo Space in the BMW X3
This 2-row SUV offers enough seating for five passengers in total, which is plenty of seating for the entire family. Even with all five seats filled, there’s enough space in the trunk for 28.7 cubic feet of luggage.
The rear seat folds down flat, as well, so you can accommodate a total of 62.7 cubic feet of cargo when necessary. The split-folding rear seat also allows you to optimize your space between passengers and cargo.
With an available cargo cover over the trunk space, you’re able to keep valuables out of sight and safe from the sun.
BMW X3 Connectivity
You can stay connected while out-and-about with the intuitive infotainment features available in the BMW X3.
The X3 interior comes standard with the iDrive infotainment system, which places a full-color touchscreen in the center stack. This system allows you to use voice commands to change the radio station, check the weather, or enter destinations into your navigation system.
You can also do this using available Gesture Control, which lets you to perform tasks, such as changing the volume or answering phone calls, with a simple wave of your hand.
If you want easy access to important information like vehicle speed, navigation, collision warnings, and speed limits, you can also opt for the available Head-up Display. This projects the data onto the lower portion of your windshield, so you can stay informed without taking your eyes away from the road ahead of you.
