X2 Interior

The X2 can seat five people in two rows of comfortable, supportive seats. Adult passengers have ample headroom and legroom in both the front and back. Synthetic leather upholstery and power-adjustable seats are standard, but you can upgrade to heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and M sport seats. Dual-zone automatic climate control and a panoramic moonroof are available.

The cargo capacity for the X2 is better than many of its rivals. The cargo hold has 21.6 cubic feet of space with the seats in the upright position, expanding to 50.1 cubic feet with the seats folded flat. Both a power liftgate and a hands-free power liftgate are available for convenient loading and unloading.

X2 Safety and Technology

The X2 comes equipped with a bevy of safety features, including forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking that signals you in the event of possible frontal collisions and automatically applies the brakes. Speed limit recognition, a rearview camera, and parking sensors are also standard. Park assist, a head-up display, and adaptive cruise control, a feature that adjusts your speed on the highway to stay with the flow of traffic, are optional.

BMW’s iDrive infotainment system is standard and includes an 8.8-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay™, a feature that connects your phone to the onboard system for streaming music and accessing apps. This system is highly intuitive and boasts a combination of responsive touch inputs, physical controls, and a rotary control knob. Satellite radio, navigation, and HD radio are standard. A built-in Wi-Fi hot spot, a Harman Kardon® sound system, and wireless device charging are optional.

X2 Performance and Engines

The X2 comes with a 228-horsepower, turbocharged 4-cylinder engine for both the sDrive and xDrive28i trims. The upgraded engine is a 301-horsepower, turbo-4 engine that comes with the M35i trims. Both engines use a smooth 8-speed automatic transmission. While both engines are powerful and energetic, the M35i engine is performance-oriented and boasts incredible acceleration.

Despite its crossover persona, the X2 is fun to drive and offers accurate steering and composed handling for exciting trips on winding back roads. The suspension expertly balances a comfortable ride quality and sport handling, making it ideal for a fun cruise or daily commutes and road trips. Several sport enhancement features are available, such as launch control, M Sport exhaust, brakes, and steering, and an adjustable suspension.
