Interior Space & Amenities

The 2022 BMW X5 and 2022 Audi Q5 easily seat five passengers across two rows. However, if you have a larger family or are the designated carpool driver, then you may prefer the X5. That’s because it has an optional third row, bringing the seating capacity to seven.

Not only can the X5 seat more people, but it holds more cargo as well. When you fold the back row down, its cargo space expands to a maximum of 72.3 cubic feet. Meanwhile, the Q5 has 54 cubic feet when that row is folded down.

They both have plenty of amenities to help keep everyone relaxed. As an example, the BMW X5 comes standard with three-stage heated and power-adjustable front seats. It also comes with a standard panoramic moonroof and a multi-zone climate control system.

The Audi Q5 offers some premium features, but it doesn’t come standard with nearly as many luxury amenities as you’ll find in the 2022 X5. That includes its power panoramic sunroof, which is only an available feature.

High-Tech Features

Whether you’re heading to work, the store, or vacation, you’ll want to stay connected and entertained for the whole drive. Luckily, you’ll find plenty of technologies inside both the 2022 X5 and 2022 Q5.

That includes both of their advanced infotainment systems – which include Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. Simply plug your phone into the vehicle’s USB port to have your favorite apps appear on the display screen in each of them. You can listen to podcasts, pull up directions, or send text messages without messing around with your phone.

The 2022 BMW X5 also comes standard with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that is integrated into the central display. While the Q5 also has a digital dashboard display, its 7-inch display is much smaller.

BMW X5 Performance

Performance Specs

The BMW X5 has three engine options, with the standard one being a 3.0L BMW TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder that delivers 335 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque. For those who want maximum power, there’s up to 617 horsepower ready to be unleashed in the X5 with the available 4.4L BMW M TwinPower Turbo V8 engine.

Unfortunately, the Audi Q5 can’t match that level of power output. Its 2.0L 4-cylinder engine produces a standard 201 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. At most, the Audi Q5 can produce 362 horsepower.

Both vehicles are sure-footed, agile, and handle corners well. Plus, they both offer impressive all-wheel-drive systems: xDrive in the X5 and quattro® in the Q5. These systems distribute power evenly between the front and rear wheels to enhance handling and maintain traction on even the roughest road surfaces.

2022 X5 vs 2022 Q5: Verdict

When it comes to choosing between the X5 vs. Q5, the additional cargo space, longer list of features, and a more powerful performance of the BMW X5 may be what you need for your trips around Atlantic City, Egg Harbor, and Vineland, New Jersey.
